Name: Stelis grandibracteata C.Schweinf.
Etymology: The genus name Stelis comes from Greek; grandibracteata means “with large bracts” and refers to the conspicuous bracts.
First description: In 1942 by Charles Schweinfurth.
Origin/Distribution: The species is known from Ecuador and Peru.
Location/Habitat: We grow Stelis grandibracteata in cool to cool-intermediate conditions at around 11–21 °C, with high humidity, shaded to bright filtered light, and good air circulation. We keep the fine, airy substrate evenly slightly moist.
