First description: The species was described in 1987 by Carlyle A. Luer and Walter Hirtz.
Origin / Habitat: Ecuador, Morona-Santiago Province, in moss-covered cloud forests at approximately 1,700–1,800 m. It grows epiphytically on thin, moss-covered branches.
Description & Care: Small, compactly growing Porroglossum with slender stems and approximately 1 cm flowers that appear sequentially.
