Name: Phragmipedium Anahi Carchi
Parents: Phragmipedium Geralda × Phragmipedium kovachii
Registration: Grex registered in the RHS International Orchid Register; registered on 25 February 2025 by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Phragmipedium is derived from Greek elements meaning “partition” and “shoe.” Anahi Carchi is the grex name chosen by Ecuagenera.
Location/growing conditions: We recommend bright, filtered light, high humidity, and good air circulation. Intermediate conditions of approximately 15–26°C during the day and 11–18°C at night are favorable. The growing medium should be very airy, but evenly moist; do not allow the roots to dry out completely.
Description and notes: This hybrid combines Phragmipedium Geralda with the large-flowered P. kovachii. Geralda brings the influence of P. caudatum and P. lindleyanum, while P. kovachii may contribute particularly to flower size, substance, and strong pink to magenta tones. Seedlings naturally vary. We water regularly with water that is as soft as possible and fertilize lightly but continuously during the growing season.
