Etymology:
cinnabarina = cinnabar-red

Origin: Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador
Habitat:
terrestrial in shady and semi-shady locations at altitudes of 1000 to 2500m.
Notes:
Long flowering period, waxy, large, green and fragrant flowers on up to 50cm long flower stalks. The orange-red lip with the snow-white column provides a wonderful contrast, which makes Lycaste cinnabarina look very unusual and interesting.

Cultivation: Intermediate at about 14–25 °C, semi-shady and with high humidity. Water abundantly during growth and keep somewhat drier after the pseudobulbs have matured.
