Description

Lepanthes thalia x Lepanthes hexapus

Name: Lepanthes thalia × Lepanthes hexapus

Etymology: The genus name Lepanthes is derived from the Greek lepis ("scale") and anthos ("flower"). hexapus means "six-footed" and refers to the six conspicuous segments of the petals.

Origin / Breeding: Hybrid of Lepanthes thalia × Lepanthes hexapus. L. hexapus grows epiphytically in the moist montane forests of Colombia to central Ecuador, at approximately 850–2100 m.

Description & Care: Small Lepanthes hybrid with a compact growth habit and sequentially blooming flowers. We grow it in bright to shaded conditions, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep the substrate evenly slightly moist and avoid prolonged dry periods. We cultivate it at approximately 10–22 °C.
