Description

Lepanthes ingridiana

Name: Lepanthes ingridiana Luer

Etymology: The genus name Lepanthes is derived from Greek; ingridiana honors Ingrid Portilla.

First description: 2000 by Carlyle A. Luer.

Origin/Distribution: The species originates from Ecuador.

Location/Habitat: It grows epiphytically in moist mountain forests. We cultivate Lepanthes ingridiana cool to intermediate at about 12–21 °C, with very high humidity, bright filtered light and continuous gentle air movement.

Description and notes: This compact Lepanthes has sturdy shoots and individual leathery leaves. The flowers are notable for their relatively long sepals and appear successively on slender inflorescences. We keep the fine roots constantly slightly moist.
