Remarks:
Only one plant of Dracula soennemarkii was probably found by chance; it blossomed in cultivation and came from an earlier collection. Since then, the species has only been propagated vegetatively, but also by seed; the slightly hanging to horizontally emerging flowers are relatively small at 2.5-3.5cm and hang on inflorescence stalks over 20cm long.
