Active Algae Lime for Soil and Foliar Application
Active Algae Lime – microfine powder for soil and foliar application Dr. Stähler Active Algae Lime consists of 100% natural fossil marine deposits of algae. It contains microfine calcium carbonate with a very high reactivity of more than 80%. It is immediately and easily convertible in the soil and forms a well-adhering, microfine coating when applied to leaves.
Active Algae Lime stabilizes the pH value of the soil, improves the availability of many nutrients in the soil, and promotes favorable living conditions for beneficial soil microorganisms. In addition, the soil structure is improved through the formation of stable crumb structures. Also ideal for composting. Foliar application provides new vitality for weakened plants such as boxwood.
Soil activation with Active Algae Lime can be carried out at any time of year. The best times for flowers, lawns, vegetable beds, trees, and shrubs are autumn, winter, and spring. In our gardens, healthy plant growth is not possible without lime. Every year, 1 m2 of garden soil consumes up to 70 g of lime, partly through uptake by the plants and partly through leaching.
Net weight: 1.75 kg
Raw materials: 100% chalk from natural deposits.
Application: Dr. Stähler Active Algae Lime can be evenly spread by hand on garden soils all year round. Subsequent incorporation into the soil is beneficial. The application of lime depends on the pH value of the soil. A soil test (a soil tester from a specialist retailer or the state soil testing institutes) is helpful here. The lid contains approximately 35 g when leveled. For regular applications of lime (maintenance liming), the following amounts should be used: For light soil (sandy), 50 g/m2 once a year; for heavy soil (loamy), 80 g/m2 once a year.
For liming acidic soils (pH value below 5.5): For light soil (sandy), 100 g/m2 once; for heavy soil (loamy), 250 g/m2 once.
For foliar application: Sprinkle on the leaves in spring.
Do not use on lime-sensitive plants such as bog plants. Store in a dry place. Recommendations from official advisory services take precedence.
