Description

Dendrobium Swiss Mountain Palace red 'Camila'

Name: Dendrobium Swiss Mountain Palace 'Camila'

Etymology: The genus name Dendrobium is derived from the Greek dendron (“tree”) and bios (“life”). “Swiss Mountain Palace” is the registered grex name; “Camila” denotes the selected cultivar.

First description: The grex was registered with the RHS in 2018.

Origin / Breeding: Dendrobium Swiss Mountain Palace is a hybrid of D. cuthbertsonii × D. Mtn's Butterfly Kisses. D. Mtn's Butterfly Kisses stems from D. glomeratum × D. cuthbertsonii.

Description & notes: Compact, cool-growing Dendrobium hybrid with a strong influence from D. cuthbertsonii. We cultivate it in bright to slightly shaded conditions, with high humidity, good air circulation, and consistent moisture. We keep it cool to intermediate, at approximately 12–22 °C.
