Location:
epiphytic, occasionally lithophytic at altitudes of 1300 to 2000 meters in full sun near rivers.

Remarks:
The flower color and size is very dependent on the culture. If the plants are found at a very high altitude with strong UV radiation, the growth is much more compact; on cool nights the flowers become larger than average and very colorful. The 2-4 flowers give off a delicate scent that is sometimes perceived as musty. Flower size is 10-15cm.
