Anthurium insigne 'Gigante'

Name: Anthurium insigne ‘Gigante’

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek anthos and oura. ‘Gigante’ refers to the particularly robust, large-leaved character of this selection.

Origin: Northwestern tropical South America.

Location/Cultivation conditions: We cultivate the plant in warm conditions at approximately 19–28 °C, high humidity, and good air circulation. A coarse, humus-rich, and very airy aroid substrate should be kept consistently slightly moist.

Description and notes: The ‘Gigante’ selection develops large, distinctly lobed leaves as it matures and requires a correspondingly large amount of space. A sturdy climbing support and consistent care promote vigorous growth.
