Description

Anthurium spec. nov. 'Silver'

Name: Anthurium sp. nov. ‘Silver’

Etymology: Anthurium is derived from the Greek anthos and oura. ‘Silver’ refers to the silvery shimmer of the leaf surface. The designation sp. nov. indicates that the cultivated material is not assigned to any securely published species.

Location/Cultivation conditions: We cultivate the plant in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. A coarse, airy aroid substrate should remain evenly lightly moist.

Description and notes: The plant has firm, slightly leathery leaves with an attractive silvery shimmer. Since the botanical classification is not certain, we refrain from unconfirmed information regarding origin, first description, and synonyms.
