Anthurium pulcachense

Name: Anthurium pulcachense Croat

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words for "flower" and "tail." The specific epithet refers to Pulcache in Peru, near the location where the species was found.

Original description: 2008 by Thomas B. Croat in Novon.

Origin/Distribution: Endemic to Peru, in the San Martín Department.

Location/Habitat: Terrestrial in moist premontane forests, at approximately 630–950 m elevation. For cultivation, warm conditions of about 19–28 °C, high humidity, and bright, filtered light are recommended.

Description and notes: The species forms upright, heart-shaped to weakly heart-shaped, dark green leaves with triangular petioles and a green inflorescence. A loose, humus-rich, and airy substrate is well-suited. Keep consistently slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
