Name: Anthurium pinkleyi Croat & Carlsen

Etymology: The specific epithet pinkleyi honors the American biologist Homer V. Pinkley.

First described: In 2004 by Thomas B. Croat and Monica Carlsen.

Origin/Distribution: Ecuador.

Location/Habitat: Terrestrial on the eastern Andean slopes near Limoncocha at low elevations of around 300 m. We recommend warm conditions of approximately 21–29 °C, high humidity, and bright, filtered light.

Description and notes: Its long-stalked, trilobed leaves are characteristic, giving the plant a light, airy appearance. A wide pot with a coarse, humus-rich, well-draining aroid mix supports its terrestrial growth. Keep the substrate consistently slightly moist and avoid both waterlogging and cold drafts.
