Description

Anthurium pentaphyllum

Name: Anthurium pentaphyllum (Aubl.) G.Don

Etymology: pentaphyllum means “five-leaved” and refers to the divided leaf blade.

Origin/Distribution: Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America.

Location/Habitat: Climbing and often epiphytic or hemiepiphytic in warm, humid forests. We cultivate the species at approximately 20–29°C with high humidity in coarse, airy aroid substrate.

Description and Notes: This vigorous climbing plant develops mature leaves with several distinctly separated lobes. A sturdy climbing support promotes the growth of large, characteristic leaves.
