Description

Anthurium misturatum (aka cuspidatum Amazonas')

Name: Anthurium misturatum Croat

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words for “flower” and “tail.” The specific epithet misturatum means “mixed” or “blended.”

First described: 2018 by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/Distribution: Ecuador.

Location/Habitat: From the moist forests of the Pacific Andes. For cultivation, we recommend warm temperatures of approximately 18–27 °C, high humidity, and bright, filtered light.

Description and Notes: This species was long cultivated under the name Anthurium cuspidatum ‘Amazonas’ before it was described as Anthurium misturatum. It develops large, elongated leaves. A coarse, airy aroid potting mix and consistent light moisture are recommended.
