Anthurium brownii 'Tambo'

Name: Anthurium brownii Mast. ‘Tambo’

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek anthos ("flower") and oura ("tail"). ‘Tambo’ denotes the offered selection.

Origin/Distribution: From southern Central America to northern South America.

Location/Habitat: Terrestrial to hemiepiphytic in warm, humid tropical forests. We cultivate the species at approximately 20–28 °C, high humidity, and good air circulation in a coarse, humus-rich aroid substrate.

Description and Notes: Anthurium brownii changes its leaf shape significantly during development. The ‘Tambo’ selection is cultivated for its vigorous growth and decorative foliage.
