Description

Anthurium acaule 'No. 7'

Name: Anthurium acaule (Jacq.) Schott ‘No. 7’

Synonyms: Pothos acaulis Jacq.

Etymology: acaule means “stemless” and refers to the very short, barely visible stem; ‘No. 7’ designates this selected cultivar.

Origin/Distribution: The species originates from the Caribbean.

Location/Habitat: We cultivate ‘No. 7’ in warm conditions at approximately 20–29 °C, with high humidity and bright, indirect light. A coarse, highly airy aroid substrate supports its epiphytic growth habit.

Description and Notes: Anthurium acaule forms a compact rosette of sturdy, leathery leaves. The selection ‘No. 7’ was chosen for its attractive growth. We keep the substrate slightly moist, but avoid a permanently wet, poorly ventilated root zone.
