Name: Anthurium Magnificent Girl ‘Inverse’
Parents: Anthurium besseae cf. × Anthurium magnificum
Breeding: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). Magnificent Girl is the horticultural name of the cross; “Inverse” indicates the reversed parent direction compared with the corresponding reciprocal cross.
Location/Growing conditions: We grow the hybrid in bright to partially shaded conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. The substrate should be coarse, humus-rich, and very well aerated, and should remain evenly slightly moist. We avoid intense direct midday sun.
Description and notes: Anthurium Magnificent Girl ‘Inverse’ combines the compact, dark-leaved character of the parent plant listed as Anthurium besseae cf. with the large, velvety, prominently veined leaves of Anthurium magnificum. Leaf size, shape, and venation can vary among seedlings.
