Name: Anthurium Rasta Girl
Parents: Anthurium lutheri × Anthurium vittarifolium
Cultivation: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos ("flower") and oura ("tail"). Rasta Girl is the horticultural name of this hybrid.
Location/Cultivation Conditions: We grow the hybrid in bright to partial shade at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. A coarse, airy, and slightly moisture-retaining aroid substrate should be kept evenly lightly moist. Elevated cultivation or a hanging basket provides ample space for the long, pendulous leaves.
Description and Notes: Anthurium Rasta Girl combines two species with elongated foliage and develops a particularly elegant, pendulous growth habit. The narrow leaves may exhibit a slightly velvety surface and a striking transition between the petiole and the leaf blade. In seedlings, leaf width, length, and surface texture vary.
