Name: Anthurium Ecuagenera Queen
Parents: Anthurium warocqueanum × Anthurium waterburyanum
Breeding: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). Ecuagenera Queen is the horticultural name of this cross.
Location/Growing conditions: We grow this hybrid in bright to partially shaded conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. A coarse, airy, humus-rich aroid mix should be kept consistently slightly moist. Growing it in a raised position or providing a sturdy climbing support gives its long, trailing leaves enough room.
Description and notes: Anthurium Ecuagenera Queen combines the long, narrow, prominently veined leaves of Anthurium warocqueanum with the broader, velvety foliage of Anthurium waterburyanum. Its large, trailing leaves make this hybrid an impressive collector’s plant. Seedlings may vary in leaf width, length, and venation.
