Name: Anthurium Andean Moon
Parents: Anthurium besseae cf. × Anthurium debile
Cultivation: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos ("flower") and oura ("tail"). Andean Moon is the horticultural name for this hybrid.
Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the hybrid in bright to partial shade at approximately 18–26°C, with high humidity and good air circulation. The growing medium should be coarse, humus-rich, and highly porous, remaining evenly moist but not wet. We avoid intense direct midday sun and waterlogging.
Description and Notes: Anthurium Andean Moon combines the compact growth and dark foliage of the parent plant, identified as Anthurium besseae cf., with the striking textured leaf surface of Anthurium debile. The firm, leathery leaves may develop a more pronounced relief texture as they mature. In seedlings, shape, size, and texture may vary.
