Name: Anthurium Amazon Fox ‘Inverse’
Parents: Anthurium nigrolaminum × Anthurium crystallinum
Breeding: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). Amazon Fox is the horticultural name; “Inverse” indicates the reversed parent direction compared with the corresponding reciprocal cross.
Location/Growing conditions: We grow the hybrid in bright to semi-shaded conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep a coarse, airy aroid substrate evenly slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Bright, diffused light encourages compact growth and well-defined venation.
Description and notes: Anthurium Amazon Fox ‘Inverse’ combines the slender, elegant foliage of Anthurium nigrolaminum with the velvety surface and decorative venation of Anthurium crystallinum. The leaf veins may appear finer and less contrasting than those of pure Anthurium crystallinum. Differences in leaf width, shape, and pattern are normal in seedlings.
