Alocasia odora 'Batik' variegated XS (5.5cm pot)

Name: Alocasia odora (G.Lodd.) Spach ‘Batik Variegated’

Etymology: The specific epithet odora refers to the fragrance of the inflorescences. ‘Batik Variegated’ refers to the strikingly patterned variegated cultivar.

Origin: The species is native to East and Southeast Asia; the variegated form offered is a cultivated selection.

Location/Growing conditions: We grow the young plants in warm conditions at approximately 20–29°C, with high humidity and bright, indirect light. We keep the loose, humus-rich, and well-drained substrate consistently slightly moist.

Description and notes: ‘Batik Variegated’ displays variable light variegation on the large, arrow-shaped leaves. In young plants in 5.5 cm pots, the pattern changes with each new leaf. We protect very light areas of the leaves from intense direct sunlight.
