Etymology: The specific epithet wallisii honors the German plant collector Gustav Wallis.

Location/Cultivation conditions: We grow the species in warm conditions at around 20–28 °C, with high humidity and bright to partial shade. We keep the humus-rich, loose substrate evenly slightly moist, without waterlogging.
