Name: Philodendron squamicaule ‘Blushing’

Etymology: The specific epithet squamicaule refers to the conspicuously scaly or textured stems and petioles. ‘Blushing’ refers to the reddish coloration of this selection.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the plant in warm conditions at around 20–28 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. A climbing support and coarse, airy aroid substrate promote vigorous growth.

Description and Notes: ‘Blushing’ combines the characteristic texture of Philodendron squamicaule with attractive reddish to bronze tones on young plant parts. As the plant matures, the leaves become larger and its typical growth habit more pronounced. We keep the substrate evenly moist.
