Philodendron sharoniae

Name: Philodendron sharoniae Croat

Etymology: The specific epithet sharoniae honors Sharon Christoph Davidson, who supported botanical fieldwork and the research of aroids.

Origin/Distribution: Colombia and Ecuador.

Habitat: Climbing to epiphytic in humid tropical and montane forests. We cultivate this species in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. A climbing support is recommended.

Description and Notes: Philodendron sharoniae develops exceptionally long, narrow leaves, the midsection of which can be significantly constricted depending on the form. As the plant matures, the leaves become increasingly impressive. We keep the coarse, airy aroid substrate consistently slightly moist.
