Description

Philodendron rubrocinctum 'Platinum'

Name: Philodendron rubrocinctum Engl. ‘Platinum’

Etymology: The epithet rubrocinctum means “red-banded.” ‘Platinum’ refers to the dark, metallic-looking cultivar.

Origin/Distribution: Colombia.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the plant in warm conditions at around 20–28 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, humus-rich aroid potting mix evenly moist.

Description and Notes: Philodendron rubrocinctum ‘Platinum’ develops large, attractive leaves with clearly visible venation and a dark, metallic appearance. The slightly wavy, glossy surface reflects light differently and enhances the distinctive effect of this selection.
