Description

Philodendron gloriosum

Name: Philodendron gloriosum, André 1976
Synonym: Anthurium gloriosum, K. Krause 1930
Etymology: gloriosum = worthy of praise, magnificent
Origin: Colombia
Habitat: terrestrially creeping, in shady locations along the upper reaches of the Orinoco at elevations of around 500 m. It is likely that there are other locations, but these have not yet been recorded.
Notes: Philodendron gloriosum is one of the most beautiful members of this genus, with its multicolored leaves in shades of green and dense foliage making it a real eye-catcher. And the many different varieties make this member of the genus one of the most fascinating among the aroids.
