Name: Philodendron genevieveanum Croat

Etymology: The specific epithet genevieveanum honors Geneviève Ferry, who was deeply involved in the cultivation and collection of aroids.

Origin/Distribution: Colombia.

Location/Habitat: Lithophytic in moist, rocky locations in tropical forests. We cultivate the species in warm conditions at approximately 20–28 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. The substrate should be coarse and very well-drained.

Description and notes: Philodendron genevieveanum is a relatively compact-growing species with attractive, robust leaves. A well-ventilated root zone and consistent, light moisture suit its lithophytic growth habit particularly well.
