Philodendron acutifolium

Name: Philodendron acutifolium K.Krause

Etymology: The specific epithet acutifolium means "sharp-leaved" and refers to the pointed shape of the leaf blade.

Origin/Distribution: Northwest South America.

Location/Habitat: Epiphytic to hemiepiphytic in moist tropical and montane forests. We cultivate the species in warm to intermediate conditions at about 18–27 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light.

Description and Notes: Philodendron acutifolium develops elongated, pointed leaves and relatively short internodes, which can make older plants appear compact. A climbing support and coarse, airy aroid substrate promote healthy root and leaf development.
