Product information "Perlite"

Perlite, mostly called Perlite, is an additive for soils and substrates of volcanic origin.

In order to optimize the water-storing properties of perlite, the raw material must be "popped". Perlite is suddenly heated to 900°C and the water it contains evaporates. This process causes the rock to expand by up to 20%.

This perlite is therefore a valuable additive for garden and pot culture, but especially for orchids. The small perlite beads prevent waterlogging. At the same time, perlite absorbs water and stores it until the roots take it.

Perlite is pH neutral and very low in salt.
