Remarks:
Phragm. Cardinale is one of the oldest known hybrids. This cross comes from a time when seeds were sown on material (soil or branches) that came directly from the site. Asymbiotic sowing was unknown at that time. Hybrids were only registered at the beginning of the 20th century, with the SANDERS list prevailing over Rolfe's list. This is why this hybrid has 5 different names today:
Phragm. Albanense, Veitch 1882
Phragm.Album, Ingram 1895
Phragm.Cardinale, Veitch 1882
Phragm.Rubicundum, RIMeasures 1882
Phragm.Sedenii Albanense, Sanders 1882
In the trade, the name Phragm. Cardinale has become established today and is the most common name for this hybrid.
