Name: Trichotosia vulpina

Etymology: The genus name Trichotosia refers to the hairiness characteristic of many species; vulpina means "fox-like" and refers to the coloration or hairiness.

Origin/Distribution: Tropical Asia.

Location/Habitat: We cultivate the epiphytic species intermediately at approximately 15–26 °C, with high humidity, bright filtered light, and good air circulation. The roots are kept moist regularly, but may dry out slightly between waterings.

Description and Notes: The species has elongated, often slightly pendulous shoots and conspicuously hairy plant parts. The small flowers develop along the shoots and also show the fine hairiness typical of the genus. A very airy pot culture or hanging basket culture is well suited.
