Name: Sarcochilus Newbold Alta

Parents: Sarcochilus Kulnura Rusty × Sarcochilus Parma

Registration: Grex registered with the RHS; registered in 2023 by Orchids Newbold, originator S. Barrie.

Location/Growing conditions: We grow Sarcochilus in bright to partially shaded conditions at around 15–25 °C, with high humidity and very good air circulation. A fine, airy orchid mix is kept evenly slightly moist, but allowed to dry out a little on the surface between waterings.

Description and notes: Sarcochilus Newbold Alta is a compact hybrid from modern Australian breeding lines. Flower color and markings can vary among seedlings; the parent combination can produce attractive shades of pink, red, and yellow, as well as contrasting patterns.
