Description

Rhynchorides Rachael Brick 'Shountemo' (10 cm hanging pot)

Name: Rhynchorides Rachael Brick ‘Shountemo’

Parents: Aerides falcata × Rhynchostylis coelestis

Registration: Grex registered with the RHS; registered in 2002 by Motes.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow this vandaceous hybrid in warm conditions at about 18–28 °C, in very bright light with protection from intense midday sun, high humidity, and strong air movement. In a hanging pot, we use a very coarse, fast-drying orchid mix and water regularly during active growth.

Description and Notes: Rhynchorides Rachael Brick combines two species with vigorous, vandaceous growth and can produce attractive, floriferous panicles. ‘Shountemo’ denotes the cultivated clonal selection. The roots should receive plenty of air and be allowed to dry quickly after watering.
