Name: Rhyncholaeliocattleya Pietro Tosi × Cattleya Pornthip H00161 4N
Parents: Rhyncholaeliocattleya Pietro Tosi × Cattleya Pornthip H00161 4N
Description & Notes: A large-flowered Cattleya hybrid from the Rhyncholaeliocattleya lineage. The tetraploid 4N selection of the parent Cattleya Pornthip may promote vigorous growth and substantial blooms. During active growth, the plant requires regular watering and nutrients; after the new shoots have matured, it can be kept slightly drier.
Light: Very bright with plenty of indirect light and some milder morning or evening sun. Avoid intense midday sun behind glass.
Temperature: Temperate to warm, ideally around 18–28 °C during the day and 15–20 °C at night. A slight drop in nighttime temperature is beneficial.
Water & Humidity: Water thoroughly during growth and then allow the substrate to dry out well. After the pseudobulbs have matured, reduce watering slightly without allowing the plant to dry out completely for extended periods. Humidity of around 50–70% with good air circulation is beneficial.
Substrate: Coarse, very airy orchid substrate on a bark base with excellent drainage. The roots should be aerated again quickly after watering; avoid permanently wet substrate.
