Name: Porrovallia Ecuagenera
Parents: Porroglossum muscosum × Masdevallia norops
Registration: Registered by Ecuagenera in the RHS International Orchid Register on October 30, 2023.
Location/Growing Conditions: This intergeneric miniature hybrid prefers cool to intermediate conditions of approximately 12–22 °C, shade to moderately bright filtered light, high humidity, and continuous gentle air movement. We use a fine, airy, moisture-retaining medium and keep it evenly slightly moist without allowing water to accumulate.
Description and Notes: Porrovallia Ecuagenera combines the compact, potentially multi-flowered growth and mobile lip of Porroglossum muscosum with the more striking floral display of Masdevallia norops. Shape, shade, and markings may vary among seedlings. Soft water, cool nights, and weak, regular fertilizer applications support even growth; a pronounced dry rest is not required.
