Description

Phragmipedium Super Rubies

Name: Phragmipedium Super Rubies

Parents: Phragmipedium besseae × Phragmipedium humboldtii

Registration: Grex registered with the RHS; registered in 2002 by M. LeDoux.

Location/Cultivation Conditions: We grow Phragmipedium Super Rubies under intermediate conditions at around 16–25 °C, with bright, filtered light, high humidity, and good air circulation. We keep the airy, moisture-retentive potting mix evenly moist.

Description and Notes: This primary hybrid combines the vivid red color of Phragmipedium besseae with the long-petaled influence of Phragmipedium humboldtii. The result can be elegant, richly colored flowers with elongated segments.
