Name: Phalaenopsis Mini Mark

First description / registration: Registered on January 21, 1992, by Breckinridge. It is a complex cross of Phalaenopsis Micro Nova × Phalaenopsis philippinensis.
Description & Notes:
Phalaenopsis Mini Mark is an extremely popular and charming miniature hybrid worldwide. It forms compact, distichous rosettes of glossy, fleshy, oval-lanceolate leaves. The richly branched inflorescences produce numerous small, waxy flowers (approx. 3–4 cm). The petals have a creamy white base color covered with a dense, fine pattern of orange to fiery-red dots, contrasted by an intensely orange-brown to reddish lip.
In cultivation, thanks to hybrid vigor, the plant proves very robust and floriferous. It requires a partially shaded to bright location without direct midday sun. A fine to medium-grade pine bark mix or sphagnum moss is suitable as a growing medium. The medium should be kept evenly moist but allowed to dry out before the next watering, as the fleshy roots are sensitive to prolonged waterlogging.
Location/Growing conditions: Warm to intermediate temperatures of approximately 18–28 °C, bright indirect light, and good air movement. Grow in fine to medium-grade bark and allow it to dry slightly between waterings.
