Name: Pabstiella seriata
Etymology: The genus name Pabstiella honors the Brazilian botanist Guido Frederico João Pabst. The Latin specific epithet seriata means “arranged in rows” and refers to the arrangement of the flowers.
Origin/Distribution: Brazil.
Location/Habitat: The species grows epiphytically in humid forests. We recommend partial shade to bright, indirect light, high humidity, and continuous air movement. Cool to intermediate conditions of approximately 12–24 °C during the day and 8–17 °C at night are favorable. The fine roots should be kept evenly and slightly moist.
Description and Notes: Pabstiella seriata is a small, pseudobulb-less Pleurothallidinae orchid with leathery leaves and small, intricately detailed flowers that appear in a characteristic arrangement. We grow the species in a fine, airy orchid medium that retains a little moisture, or mounted, with suitably high humidity. We use water that is as soft as possible and avoid both waterlogging and prolonged, complete drying out.
