Masdevallia floribunda

Name: Masdevallia floribunda Lindl.

Origin/Distribution: Mexico to Central America, including Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Costa Rica.

Location/Habitat: The species grows epiphytically in moist mountain and cloud forests with filtered light and consistent humidity. For cultivation, we recommend cool to temperate conditions, approximately 10–22°C, high humidity, and gentle, steady air circulation.

Description and Notes: It is known for its comparatively profuse flower spikes and variable, light to yellowish-green flowers. We cultivate it in a fine, airy, yet moisture-retaining orchid potting mix. The potting mix should never dry out completely; however, waterlogging and stagnant air should be avoided.
