Name: Masdevallia Haven Patricia
Parents: Masdevallia fuchsii × Masdevallia notosibirica
Etymology: The genus name Masdevallia honors José Masdeval, a Spanish physician and botanist. Haven Patricia is the grex name of this hybrid.
Location/Culture: We recommend a bright to semi-shaded location with diffused light, high humidity, and excellent air circulation. Cool to intermediate conditions of approximately 10–22 °C are favorable; cooler nights promote compact growth and good flower development. The substrate should remain evenly slightly moist without becoming permanently waterlogged.
Description and Notes: Masdevallia Haven Patricia combines Masdevallia fuchsii with Masdevallia notosibirica. The plants grow compactly without pseudobulbs and form individual leathery leaves on short shoots. The flowers can combine traits of both parents and may vary in color, markings, and shape within the seedling population. We water regularly with the softest water possible and do not allow the fine root system to dry out completely. A fine, airy, and slightly moisture-retentive substrate is particularly suitable. High humidity should always be combined with continuous air circulation.
