Name: Lepanthes domingensis

Origin/Distribution: The species is found on Hispaniola in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Location/Habitat: We cultivate Lepanthes domingensis intermediately at around 15–24 °C, with high humidity, bright filtered light, and gentle, continuous air movement. We keep the fine roots evenly lightly moist in sphagnum or a very fine, airy, and moisture-retaining substrate.

Description and Notes: This miniature orchid produces pendulous inflorescences, on which several of the small, bright orange to red flowers can be open at the same time. The roots must not dry out completely; however, we avoid permanently wet, poorly aerated substrate.
