First described: 1987 by Carlyle A. Luer and Alexander Hirtz.
Origin/distribution: Ecuador.
Location/habitat: Epiphytic on thin, moss-covered branches in moist montane and cloud forests at elevations of approximately 1,400–2,500 m. Cool to temperate conditions of around 10–21 °C, very high humidity, and gentle air movement are suitable.
