Name: Lepanthes calodictyon (‘Xanthic’ × ‘Ecuagenera extra tessellated’)
Parents: Two selected clones of Lepanthes calodictyon; this is an intraspecific cross and not a distinct grex.
Origin/Distribution: The species originates from the moist mountain forests of Ecuador and Colombia.
Habitat/Cultivation conditions: We cultivate this miniature warm to intermediate at approximately 18–25 °C, with very high humidity, gentle continuous air movement, and bright but protected light. We keep the very fine roots constantly slightly moist in sphagnum or a fine, airy substrate.
Description and notes: Lepanthes calodictyon is particularly known for its decorative, net-patterned leaves. This cross combines the xanthic-colored clone ‘Xanthic’ with the particularly strongly tessellated Ecuagenera selection. The leaf color and intensity of the reticulated pattern may vary among the seedlings.
