Etymology:
virens = green
Origin: Brazil
Habitat:
epiphytic, in shady primary forests at elevations of 1,000 to 1,500 meters
Notes:
Laelia virens is now very rarely found in cultivation. The 3–5 flowers emerge from the tips of the pseudobulbs and can measure up to 11 cm across. The usually white lip forms a wonderful contrast with the yellowish-green flower.
