Description

Dracula saulii

Name: Dracula saulii Luer & Sijm

Etymology: The genus name Dracula means "little dragon." The specific epithet honors Saul, the discoverer of the species.

First description: 2006 by Carlyle A. Luer and Anton Sijm.

Origin/Distribution: Peru.

Location/Habitat: Epiphytic in humid Andean cloud forests. For cultivation, we recommend cool to intermediate conditions of approximately 10–21 °C, high humidity, shaded light, and good air circulation.

Description and notes: A small-flowered Dracula with densely hairy, expressive flowers. The lateral to pendulous flower stalks require free space. An open basket and a fine, airy, evenly moist substrate are ideal.
