Name: Dracula incognita Luer & R.Escobar
Etymology: The genus name Dracula means âlittle dragonâ and alludes to the unusual flower shape of many species. The Latin specific epithet incognita means âunknownâ or âunrecognizedâ.
Origin/Distribution: Colombia.
Location/Habitat: Epiphytic cloud forest orchid. In cultivation, it requires cool to intermediate conditions of approximately 12â22 °C, high humidity, constant gentle air movement, and shaded to moderately bright light.
Description and Notes: Dracula incognita produces pale flowers with contrasting darker tips on the elongated sepals. The inflorescences grow predominantly upright.
