epiphytic on wet, mossy trees in the cloud forest at altitudes of 1800 to 2500 m in the Boyaca District.
Remarks:
Dracula anthracina has very dark and densely hairy flowers that are about 10cm in size. The flower stalks emerge sideways, horizontally or slightly hanging and can be >10cm long.
